A delightfully compact antique 19th century mantle/shelf clock. Constructed from a sturdy oak exterior W/ key and pendulum included. Inscribed with a beautiful E Pluribus Unum mark which appears on the Great Seal and in Latin means "Out of many, one" which is a traditional motto for the United States. Clock shows signs of patina due to older age, this includes small marks upon the oak and interior wear on the lower beautiful glass design. On the back of the clock is a charming poem by F. P. Robinson named "The Spectacle Man"
