The Brave and the Bold began publication in August-September of 1955. Originally an adventure series featuring several non-related vignettes per issue, the title eventually evolved into a team-up book, with Batman sharing the spotlight feature throughout most of its run. The series is probably best known for the distinguished career of writer Bob Haney, whose work in the book lasted for two decades.
